Game setup

Teams amass points by identifying the societies portrayed on the fronts of playing cards, by classifying them according to the aspects, and by connecting the information to various big ideas and concepts. This card game strategy could be used to review and remind students of the facts related to Inca, Iroquoian and Algonquian societies. It assumes previous knowledge of each.

(We now also have a Connect Facts game version for Inuit, Mi’kmaq and Quebec societies in 1980+ for Cycle 3 students here!   And teachers:  We are also working on a learning approach around how to teach concepts and connections is under development here. )

Game Setup, Board, Tools and Instructions:
The game’s instructions are available here as an editable Google document >>.

Card sets as high-quality PDFs
PDFs of each society’s cards are available for convenience here.  Normally these are the equivalent to the “live” card printing pages below.  You might want to check the dates of the PDF files to see how current they are.

Cards for circa 1500 “Printing pages’ are now available
We are now using website pages to display the currently available cards for printing out the different collections.  Important, each page contains 30 or more high-quality images, so these pages will each take a while to load all the cards depending on your internet connection:

Algonquians 1500 cards print page >>

Inca circa 1500 cards print page >>

Iroquoian circa 1500 cards print page >>

Google Slide Decks and Drawings of all Cards
All the original Google Drawing versions of the circa 1500 cards used in this gaming strategy are also available here >>.

Note that it is possible to copy and edit these cards, or to right click on the folders to download lower-quality versions for other purposes, or to individually open each and download versions in other formats like as a PDF.  Please report any errors or missing cards (i.e. in this folder but not on the print page) to Paul R at LEARN.
