This one-to-two period inquiry-based activity brings the Quiet Revolution to life by moving beyond the classroom to find physical “traces” of Québec’s modernization on your own school grounds. By investigating Documents 1-4 and then heading outside to find trace evidence, like Hydro-Québec meters and provincial signage, students will interpret how responsibility for their well-being shifted from the Catholic Church to the Government during the Quiet Revolution. This hands-on approach helps Cycle 3 students connect historical change to their current territoryA territory is an area of land... Un territoire est une zone terrestre ..., culminating in a final synthesis where they demonstrate their understanding through a written or recorded answer to the inquiry question.
