The Intellectual Operations:
Intellectual Operations (or IO’s for short!) are things students can “do” with their knowledge. In Elementary, there are seven IO’s. You will notice that we have eight infographics for these IOs. This is because we have seperated the Situate in Time and Space into two seperate infographics.
Below, you will find a link to infographics to help your students learn more about each of the IO’s. Want to help your students practice a specific IO? Here is a link to a Google Folder containing IO Badge Guides.
Access all the IO infographics in English here!

Using Sources:
Students should practice establish facts using many different sources. They can use videos, books, images, artifacts, and more. Getting all your information about a society or a territoryA territory is an area of land... Un territoire est une zone terrestre ... from one document is kind of like only interviewing one person about a crime; you may miss a lot of important information! Encourage your students to discover the truth by exploring multiple sources!
Here for an infographic that shows some of the different kinds of documents students can use.
