In this Elementary Cycle 3 activity, students step into the roles of federal agents in 1905 to advise the Prime Minister about different regions of Canada. Working in pairs, learners use a branching scenario to investigate either the Prairies or the West Coast, gathering evidence on geography, industry, and diverse populations. Partners then collaborate to synthesize their findings into a formal report that highlights regional similarities and differences, as well as their unique contributions to the nation’s burgeoning growth!

Competency 2: To be open to the diversity of societies and their territory.
