This short slide deck can activate cycle 2, students’ Competency 3: To be open to the diversity of societies and their territories, for Iroquoian and Algonquian speaking nations around 1500. Students will Establish Facts (IO) about each document and then Make comparisons (IO) between the two Nations and how they existed during the same time period. The activity can be completed as a class, in small group work or individually. Students can use the spaces provided to submit text or audio responses. Each slide contains a colour guide. The educator may use this to model how to establish facts and analyze different types of documents and then have the students practice highlighting key features.
