Before starting, it is important to know that the term Iroquoian refers to a language family made up of many distinct nations. The information here is a generalization about nations in the Iroquoian language family.

We encourage you to identify which Iroquoian communities are closest to you and to learn more about their specific histories and current realities. The Wendat Nation and the Kanien:keha’ka Nation are two Iroquoian-speaking nations that currently have communities in the province of Québec.
