Diverse Perspectives on the Canadian Pacific Railway

In this LES, students will explore diverse perspective on railway construction around 1905. This folder includes a Teacher Guide, Student Workbook, formative and summative evaluation, answer key and accompanying documents.

Students will:

  1. Select a region of Canada: Quebec, the Canadian Prairies, or the West Coast.
  2. Research information about the railways construction in the region selected.
  3. Establish a stance on the railways construction.
  4. Create an infographic or slideshow to share their research and stance.

Pedagogical intention:

Support the development of Social Sciences competencies: 1: To understand the organization of a society in its territory 3: To be open to the diversity of societies and their territories
