Traces of the past: Qualities of Indigenous people
Note: Father François Du Perron was a French priest. At the time, many Europeans spoke about Indigenous Peoples using unflattering terms. This was not the case with Father Du Perron though, as this excerpt shows.
Excerpt:
“They all have greater intellect in their business, speech, kind deeds, encounters, flexibility and subtlety than the most well-heeled bourgeois and merchants of France.”
