Before beginning this section, it is important to note that the term Iroquoian refers to a language family made up of many sovereign Nations. The information contained here are generalization about Nations that belong to the Iroquoian language family, but we encourage identify which Iroquoian Nations and communities are closest to you and learn more about their specific histories and current realities. In 2020, the (Huron) Wendat Nation and the Kanien:keha’ka Nation are of Iroquoian origins.
