The Celestial Tree (or Tree of Peace)

Home » Iroquois Beadwork Kids’ Zone » The Celestial Tree (or Tree of Peace)

The Celestial Tree or Tree of Peace stood in the center of the Celestial world, where it produced flowers and fruits in abundance. When it was uprooted, Sky Woman fell through the hole it made. During her fall, she grasped the roots of the tree and brought with her gifts from the sky: tobacco and strawberries.
